Indignation

Ever since Belarus opposition leader Tichanovskaja had to flee her country, I’m keeping touch with Victoria(fictive name). Without being charged of anything she was arrested and kept in prison for a while. No longer in prison she trying to get back to normal, everyday life. Reality shows the discomfort normality.

‘Can you please tell me if i can read your book in russian?’

‘Sorry.’ I reply to her. ‘I don’t have any translations yet.’

‘It makes me sad when books don’t get translated.’

‘A lot of books never make the podium they deserve in their own language. Just as a lot of story’s that should be told never really leave their homecountry. Just like your story has become forgotten news. After a few days of indignation the world moved on in its daily routine.’
